Tax Planning and minimisation

It is not what you earn, it is what you keep that counts and nobody likes to pay too much tax. As your tax advisers it is our job to keep you tax efficient and the more we know about your finances the more effective our advice will be.

We do this by developing a long-standing mutual relationship built on trust.

At the outset, we will review your financial position and if appropriate suggest changes to your business structure or perhaps how your personal tax affairs are organised. Then on an ongoing basis, our directors and managers will periodically review your tax position to ensure that it remains efficient.

Tax planning and minimisation can take a number of forms; some of the areas that we are currently assisting clients with include;

  • Adopting the correct business structure – limited verses unincorporated
  • Tax efficient incorporation, goodwill and entrepreneurs relief.
  • Planning profit extraction, timing of remuneration and the use of holding companies.
  • Obtaining relief for embedded capital allowances in business properties and furnished holiday lets.
  • The use of trusts – grandparent settlements and school fee funding.
  • Inheritance tax and estate planning.
  • Property matters, capital gains, principal private residence and lettings relief.
  • Tax efficient payments to employees.

You can rest assured that our approach will be imaginative and pro-active but also well researched and safe. Good tax planning starts with good communication so it is vital that you tell us about your plans and ask for advice before you make any major business or financial decisions.
